Solving Short Battery Life Problem

In fact, there is no short battery life problem at all !!! Most of the issue is attributed to the wrong usage of the phone. Just follow my two recommendation and your battery will last and last for days.

1. Disconnect the data connection manually. I have no idea why but in Windows mobile after you're done surfing the web or using the web connection for any other reason like weather update or Google maps, it won't close the data link and keep it open forever draining your battery.
What you need to do is, after finished using data connection: tap on the upper top small icons and they will get enlarged. Choose "3G" and manually disconnect Data Connection.
Yes, this is stupid - but this is what you need to do to save your battery. I have no idea what's driving them to keep it open but maybe they want it to be available next time you want to surf the web. Anotehr benifit you'll get is avoiding harmful prolong Radio Frequency transmission from your phone into your body.

2. Use proper colors on your user interface. What? Yes. This is not a mistake.

This phone has beautiful AMOLED display. The technology behind it is completely different from other LCD (TFT) based phones. On LCD phones there is a backlight that constanty illuminates thought the LCD. So it doesn't matter what is projected on the LCD, the power consumption is the same.
AMOLED is an array of tiny LEDs that turn on and off individually (no backlight). So the more LEDs turned on - the more power it consumes. The good newes that generally it consumes less then regular LCD displays BUT it really consumes very low power on Back and white user interface. The reason is become only the white LEDs are on (Blacks don't consume any power at all. they are just off.). Actually it can be Black and any other color as long and the background it black. So don't choose a colorfull theme, choose Black theme and you will save a lot of power. (Notice that iPhone theme is Back too). So be like iPhone (on this topic) - and save power.

First thing first Samsung Omnia Improvments

So, you must be pretty feasted with the Samsung interface, right? Too much stuff. hard to find simple things, what do I do?

First thing you want to do it install SPB Mobile Shell 3.5. Just Do it!!!
If you want the best thing ever you MUST install it. I know I wound like a sales man but there are ways (described on web) to install it for free. I don't recommend becosue it's just $30 but there are ways. One of the ways is to install SPB Mobile Shell 3.0 first and then upgrade to 3.5.

This will give you the best user interface ever. Everything becomes easy and accessible.
This is the best investment you will do for yourself if you are planning to keep this phone.

Omnia 2 i920 Verizon - in Real life

Hi,

I've been a avid user of Omnia i910 for a year and although the reviews were very mediocre I thought that the phone is great. Yes, wen you get it out of the box it's very, very unfriendly and I wander why Verizon didn't make the smallest effort to make it more usable. Within time I've gathered many applications and utilities that make this phone just the best and I even when back to Verizon shop and showed it to the sales people and there were amazed. "My god, I never though it can do that" !!.

Lately, I've purchased Omnia i920 (Omnia 2) or (Omnia II) from Verizon and the reviews just don't do justice with this phone so I decided to write a blog that will help people to get the best out of it.

Omnia i920 beats iPhone in any aspect. Just follow this Blog and read what you need to do.
